Review:
This will probably be the shortest review I'll ever write, because this book is nearly 10 years old and at this point doesn't need yet another review. So instead, I'll speak to those of you who, like me, look at a series that is already 19 books deep and think "What's the point, I'm too far behind, I'll never catch up" etc.  Let me just say, these books are damn entertaining. Period. Start! Do it.

The plot is still a little chick-lit in my opinion, but not enough to the stop my enjoyment of the world or the characters within.  The main characters are easy to like and easier to root for.  Early on I got the feeling that the ubiquitous HEA was inevitable, but all the character introductions and history teases kept me interested throughout.  I can honestly say that I'm so interested in the world of the Dark Hunters and all the secondary characters in this book, I've already got the next installment, Night Embrace, in the reading queue.

Bottom Line:  The plot moves so quick, catching up on 19 18 books should be easy.

  1. First, this is a PRN series and not a UF series so of course the HEA is inevitable. ;) I love the world that Sherrilyn creates. It's very different. And reading about Palm Pilots and such makes me giggle. And Acheron...*drool*

  2. Yeah yeah you're right, and there's nothing wrong with the HEA. Yes the world-building is totally interesting. I'm reading on, don't worry :)

  3. Wow, 10 years old?! That just seems so long ago. Glad that you enjoyed the series. After seeing that I have 250+ books on my TBR list I am afraid to put this series on there too...maybe I should still put it on there...I'll think about that one.

  4. Yay! I'm glad you liked this one. I can't believe it's so old. I seriously need to do a re-read of this series. The books become less Chick Lit, PNR based and more UF based as they go on.

  5. Deanna: LOL 250 is a LOT, be careful

Colette: Yeah, the books so far are good enough for me to keep pushing on in the series. I'm excited to see where it goes :)

  6. I am happy to hear you love this series, SK and her DH series was the first series I dove into when I started my paranormal journey and because of her books I found a new genre I may not have even tried if not for her books. I simply can't say enough about this series and IMO they are fast reads because they do flow so well. So you will be at 19 before you know it I am aching for Sundown's book in August. LOL
