Each year I'm granted installments of all my favorite series, and of course I'm always looking forward to those. But I'm just as excited, if not more so, when completely new series/books are being released. Here are a few that have been on my radar.
Kevin Hearne
Iron Druid Chronicles #1
Pub Date: April 19th
Del Rey
Synopsis:
Atticus O'Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old--when in actuality, he's twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.
Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he's hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power--plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a sexy bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish--to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.
*This series is slated for a quick release this Spring, with Hounded in April, Hexed in May and Hammered in June... LOVE quick release series*
Cherie Priest
Chesire Red Reports #1
Pub date: Jan 25th
First 50 pages
Spectra
Synopsis:
Raylene Pendle (AKA Cheshire Red), a vampire and world-renowned thief, doesn’t usually hang with her own kind. She’s too busy stealing priceless art and rare jewels. But when the infuriatingly charming Ian Stott asks for help, Raylene finds him impossible to resist—even though Ian doesn’t want precious artifacts. He wants her to retrieve missing government files—documents that deal with the secret biological experiments that left Ian blind. What Raylene doesn’t bargain for is a case that takes her from the wilds of Minneapolis to the mean streets of Atlanta. And with a psychotic, power-hungry scientist on her trail, a kick-ass drag queen on her side, and Men in Black popping up at the most inconvenient moments, the case proves to be one hell of a ride.
*I'm so excited to dive into Cherie Priest's first bonafide Urban Fantasy series. I absolutely fell in love with her vision while reading Boneshaker. I just can't wait*
Carrie Vaughn
Pub date: April 12th
Tor Books
Synopsis:
Can an accountant defeat a supervillain? Celia West, only daughter of the heroic leaders of the superpowered Olympiad, has spent the past few years estranged from her parents and their high-powered lifestyle. She’s had enough of masks and heroics, and wants only to live her own quiet life out from under the shadow of West Plaza and her rich and famous parents.
Then she is called into her boss’ office and told that as the city’s top forensic accountant, Celia is the best chance the prosecution has to catch notorious supervillain the Destructor for tax fraud. In the course of the trial, Celia’s troubled past comes to light and family secrets are revealed as the rift between Celia and her parents grows deeper. Cut off from friends and family, Celia must come to terms with the fact that she might just be Commerce City’s only hope.
This all-new and moving story of love, family, and sacrifice is an homage to Golden Age comics that no fan will want to miss.
*This plot is one that I've had an idea for myself, but alas I am not a writer, so I'm pretty much freakin out to see how this story can be told*

Abby has enough problems without having this seductive shape-shifter literally invade her dreams to get information. But when her Faery boss and some of her friends vanish, as well, Abby and Brystion must form an uneasy alliance. As she is sucked deeper and deeper into this perilous world of faeries, angels, and daemons, Abby realizes her life is in as much danger as her heart—and there’s no one she can trust to save her.
*by the time this goes live I'll probably have this read*

Chapter 1
Berkley
Synopsis:
Growing up with an unstable, often absent father who preached about the end of the world, Jenna never thought, in her wildest nightmares, that his predictions would come true. To fight for their future, she and Mason must learn to trust their instinctive passion--a flame that will see them through the bitter winter, the endless nights, and the violence of a new Dark Age.
*It's no secret that Ann Aguirre is one of my mostest favoritest authors, with her Sirantha Jax series. Ever since I heard she was creating yet another pen name and starting a new series with the help of author Carrie Lofty, I pretty much couldn't sit still*
Gah! Those are all on my list too! I'm down to read some of those with you when they're released. =) By the way ... check your e-mail.
